The 15" Heavy Duty Soil Tube and Tip was designed for use in areas with hard soil, gravel or other difficult soil types. It includes a 15" tube that comes with a replaceable, screw-on Heavy Duty Soil Tip. It will take a core approximately 12" long by 3/4" in diameter. The outer diameter of the tube is 1". This tube is generally recommended for use in problem areas where the soil is particularly hard, rocky or difficult to sample.
The tube is made of a thicker steel (13 gauge), making it incredibly durable. The tube also has a non-clogging design with a cut-out in the front to allow for easy soil removal, visual inspection, and cleaning. The sample is unloaded from the tube without binding or compacting. It is marked at 6" intervals to indicate sampling depth.

The Heavy Duty Soil Tip is approximately ¾" in diameter, and finely machined to make sampling in hard conditions easier and for long-lasting durability. All Oakfield Apparatus Tips are nickel plated to add extra strength and resist corrosion.
It is easy to build your own soil probe with this tube, just add a handle or hand brace, and optional extension rods. All soil sampling components are interchangeable so you can easily add parts as needed and create the perfect tool for your job. With our replaceable screw-on soil tips, you can add tips depending on the soil and moisture conditions you're sampling.
